USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills Evaluation Collaboration (CSEC) Center is located at 400 N. Sam Houston Parkway East (Hwy/Beltway 8) in northern Houston, near the Bush Intercontinental Airport. The hotels near the CSEC test center mainly serve the Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), thus most hotels provide free shuttle services from/to the airport.

Since the rush hour traffic in Houston is really bad, it is best to stay in a hotel close to the test center or near the airport. There are several hotels within walking distance to the CSEC center:

• Baymont Inn and Suites 4 minutes, 502 N. Sam Houston Parkway
• Hyatt Place 6 minutes, quiet, seafood, 300 Ronan Park Place
• Marriott 8 minutes, good value, 255 N. Sam Houston Pkwy

Other hotels in this area are out of walking distance but still close (and their rates are often lower. e.g. Days Inn $49). Some hotels may offer you a free ride to the CSEC center when their shuttle bus goes to the airport.

Safety The area is not populated at all, the view is open, and there are always cars on the beltway. While walking short distance should be safe, it is always helpful to excise caution when walking alone.

Dining There are many restaurants around the area. There is a McDonald just by the CSEC center, and a good Chinese Buffet ("China Bear") off I-45 N on the east side (exit 63, then 1.5 mile to Century Plaza Dr), about 4 miles from Beltway 8.
